Welcome to MOMOBOOKSMOMOBOOKS is an independent publisher of language-learning texts in the Lao PDR and is out to prove that the love of books and the desire for knowledge are universal. Books are astonishingly rare in Laos and the local publishing industry is struggling against great odds. Lao students deserve books, but somebody has to make them and someone has to sell them. Martin Momoda is conducting this experiment in social entrepreneurship
with the intent to make educational development sustainable. The project
is growing quickly. The first books were printed in September 2008 and
30,000 books sold so far, proving that there is a strong
demand for culturally relevant and affordable books in Laos
